The Spoendlin Junior Award will be presented for the best extended abstract submitted by a young researcher, less than 35 years old.
The extended abstract must contain non-published original research, be between 1,000 and 1,200 words, and may additionally include figures with captions, as well as a graphical abstract.
The submission must be the entrant’s own research.
When the entrant is not the sole author, a statement of consent and relative contributions must be provided with the submission.
The extended abstract will be selected by a jury of at least three experts before the Workshop.
Jury members shall not belong to the same department of any of the entrants. Members of the local organizing committee shall not be part of the jury; they will cast the decisive vote should the jury not be able to arrive at a majority decision.
An Award will not be made if in the opinion of the jury members it was not justified by the quality of the science.
The winner shall present the research as a lecture at the Workshop.
The Award includes a certificate of recognition and a cash award.
The extended abstract must be sent to the Workshop Scientific Organizers no later than 25.07.2025.
